"Dad & Lad" Day

Yesterday, Greg & Nate had a "Dad & Lad" day while Abby had her last day of school. Nate had had this marked on his calendar - literally  - for weeks. So, to say Nate was excited was an understatement.

The main point of this day was to give Greg a chance to take the training wheels off of Nate's bike, and get in some good male bonding time as well. They made the most of their day, and filled it with lots of activities... First up, breakfast at The Waysider (oh so yummy!) followed by a bike session at home. Greg said he did pretty well for the first time, and didn't fall too much. Next up, a visit to Toys 'R Us to purchase the "Beyblades" that Nate had been coveting for so long. Then, a lunch at McDonald's before they picked up Abby from school at noon.

That night, Nate was eager to show me all he had learned during his "best day ever" with Greg :) I just adore the expression on Nate's face....he is concentrating so hard, yet having fun at the same time.

On the way to swim lessons that afternoon, Nate talked N.O.N.S.T.O.P about his "Dad & Lad" day. He wanted to tell me every last detail and I love that this boy idolizes his daddy so much! I can't imagine a better role model for my son.

How cute are my twinsies!? This was last Sunday before church
I can only pray that their relationship continues to blossom, and that these two end up as BFF's one day.

  1. MELT MY HEART!!! Can you strap the bike to the top of the van and bring it to the beach? I want to see Nate ride. Poppy would love it!
