When we moved to Alabama almost 2 years ago, we immediately started to search for a church. The most logical option was Holy Spirit Catholic Church, since we knew our kids would be going to school there. Luckily, Holy Spirit was the perfect fit for us from the beginning, and I'm happy to say that we have found the church we will raise our children in. For that reason, we had the kids baptized this morning, and it was quite a special day!!
Father Deasy is a big reason why we love the church so much. I have never met such a genuine, hardworking, sweet, and selfless man. (And it doesn't hurt that he has the cutest Irish accent and quite the sense of humor to boot!) We were honored that he was able to baptize the kids today. We did it in between the 9:00 & 11:00 masses, in the small chapel. We didn't have any family attend, but an unexpected number of friends came out to support our kids and it was quite touching.
My little sister & her husband are the kids' godparents, but since they were not able to attend (nor are they Catholic!) we named our family friends Joe & Alba as the honorary godparents. Here they are putting the sign of the cross on Nate & Abby's foreheads....

...and Abby wasn't pleased that her hair was going to get messed up :)
Every Sunday, Abby willingly gives Father Deasy a high-five. But she's been a bit stingy with her hugs. Until today!
We are so proud of our little ones & so happy we have found such a great church community!
Abby waited patiently throughout mass & the baptism to show off her new dress and TWIRL, TWIRL, TWIRL....

Little Miss Diva
After the baptism, we had brunch at one of our favorite restaurants with 2 sweet families. The perfect end to a perfect morning!

So sweet! I am sad we weren't there to share this day with the kiddos. I'm so glad we are their "godparents" but not sure I'm cute out to be a mom of 3, do don't die on me.

aren't church homes the best! so glad you found a great place. and what a special day. love abbey's foot out front in her picture....so fantastic. reagan would basically run around after her thinking she was so cool if they met, i know it!
