Halloween

Halloween was a bit of a wash-out. The weatherman had been predicting rain & storms all week, and unfortunately, he was right. However, it wasn't bad enough that the city decided to "cancel" Halloween. So, we just sucked it up and walked around in the rain. I think I was the one that was grumpiest about it, just b/c I was so tired from the kids' parties that day. But I tried to suck it up for the kids b/c they were excited to walk around with our neighbors!

Raphael & Jack Frost

Raphael & Cinderella

Raphael, Cinderella, and Merida from "Brave"

Raphael, Jack Frost, and Superman (Poor Nate couldn't look "tough" if he tried!)

The Princess & her loyal umbrella carrier

Hard to tell it's raining here, but it is. We walked around with about 4 other families and there were lots of umbrellas!

The kids' favorite decoration in the neighborhood. I think it's a little creepy.

My drowned rats :( Poor Nate's "shell" got so waterlogged & heavy that he had to take it off (& lucky Mommy got to carry it!)
We trick-or-treated for about an hour, and then came home to change & get dry (and have some yummy white chili!) The rain came in spurts, so we actually ended up having a lot of trick-or-treaters at our house. The kids LOVED handing out candy to everyone and seeing all the costumes. I think it was their favorite part of the whole night!
We put on some music and had a dance party in the foyer, and the kids requested we play Michael Jackson's "Thriller" over and over. Fun times! So it ended up being a good Halloween after all.

And that, my friends, concludes my series of Halloween-related posts. Whew! Stay tuned though, because in a few more days there will be a barrage of birthday posts.....my baby girl is about to turn four :(

  1. I'm glad Halloween went great at your house! I love the picture of the girls on the swing! They look like they are in the midst of a sweet conversation!
