For the THIRD year in a row, we had bad weather on Halloween! #notcool
Luckily, we had ample warning of this, and I had prepared the kids. Our neighborhood even agreed to start trick-or-treating early (4 pm!) because the rain was slated to start around 5 and not.let.up!

We took some pics with our neighbors, the Richardsons, who were dressed as the Incredibles. So cute! And two of their friends came over as well, Tessa & Camp.

We started trick-or-treating and at house #3, it started sprinkling. Seriously!? This guy still had the Halloween spirit though :) (And wine always helps!)
About 10 houses down, I realized Abby was going up to our neighbors and saying "Toto likes candy too!" So, she was double-dipping and super proud of herself. Ha!
Two girls live next door - Kate (8), and Caroline (6). Abby has always been close with them, but in past months, she & Kate have really paired off. They are too cute together!! They trick-or-treated the whole time together; would wait for each other and just chatted constantly.
A break in the rain = group picture!
Those smiles lasted about 5 minutes until the rain came back. We trick-or-treated around the whole neighborhood, but got soaked in the process. I had two grumpy kiddos when we got home at 5 pm! #drownedrats
They quickly toweled off, put on comfy clothes, and began to sort their candy while Greg fixed us his famous chili for dinner.
Greg built a fire, and the kids had a ball handing out candy all night. The rain didn't keep the trick-or-treaters away, which is a good thing b/c I bought 10 lbs of candy to hand out! :)
It was another soggy Halloween, but we still managed to have fun!

I LOVE the drowned rats picture! It cracks me up everytime I see it!
