Carving Pumpkins

One of Greg's favorite days of the year is the one where we carve pumpkins! Well, he carves and the kids usually paint their pumpkins. This year, we decided to let Nate carve for the first time, and he was soooo excited!

First up, scoop the guts...

Nate kept saying "Jackpot!" every time he'd pull out a scoop
of guts. (It was like 3 seeds and a tiny bit of guts!) So, Greg
had to help a bit to speed things along...

Her masterpiece!

Nate's finished product!
I think he did awesome for his first time!!

Greg worked on his pumpkin over a span of 2 nights. Doesn't he look like a professional!?

Starting in 2010 (Woody from Toy Story), Greg started carving pumpkins with a theme to match what the kids were "into" that year. He alternates between kids....obviously, last year was Abby's year - Elsa!)....and this year was Nate's year. So, Greg chose none other than Harry Potter!

Isn't this incredible!??!?!?!?

Greg tried a new technique this year, shading, to give the pumpkin more depth and human-like qualities. #nailedit
