A Strong Finish

Nate's soccer season came to an end on Thursday. This was definitely his best season yet! We loved his coach, Kylie, and are hoping to get paired with her again next season. Along with the other boys on his team....they seemed to play well together and have good chemistry. They were "unbeatable" (or undefeated) all season, and then ended with a tough game Thursday. There was some debate among the parents about the final score - because their league is not even supposed to keep score - but we either tied or lost by 1. Not sure. But if you ask Nate, they won! :)

Click here to view a video of one of Nate's many blocks (he is wearing the white longsleeve shirt under his jersey.) I am proud of him for becoming quite the little defensive MVP!!

Recently, Abby has discovered that a boy in her class (Jackson) has an older brother that plays/practices at the same time at Nate. So they have had fun running around and goofing off together.
Taking a breather on the sidelines

A few minutes before the end of the game, Nate made a superstar play but ended up paying for it. A kid on the other team was on a breakaway, and Nate raced the length of the field to catch him & block his goal. Well, he did (!) but ended up getting a cleat to the face in the process. The video I took is a little blurry, sorry. And Nate is the one that is starting off the play, doing the corner kick. I was super proud of his slide tackle, and apparently so was Greg. He's the nut in the background wearing a red & black shirt & cheering real loud! :) Click here to see the video.

After every game, the parents from both teams line up to make a "tunnel" for the kids to run through, as we all cheer for them. This is one of Nate's favorite things, and I was finally able to get a decent shot of it. See his little face poking out there!?
Then it was time for certificates and medals from Coach Kylie.

Wow, this has my name on it! :)
