Abby's First Communion took place at St. Francis Church on April 29th.
Abby and I headed to church early that morning, around 7:45 am!
She was very quiet on the ride; nervous I think.
Each student had to make a First Communion banner, and then they were placed on the pews to denote our seating placement.
My sweet little angel :)
The kids had to wait in the Bride's Room for about 45 minutes beforehand. I think they were all a bundle of nerves! I loved all the floral wreaths in their hair though.
Getting ready to walk in...
She got paired with Mia to walk down the aisle
They all gathered at the front of the church to sing a short song before mass began
Each student went up to take First Communion with their immediate family, so a sweet friend got these pictures for me :) Abby did great!
Sweet Cate, Mia and Abby
Can you tell they are relieved that it's over!?
After Abby had some professional pictures taken, and then we headed outside - we lucked out with gorgeous weather! - for some family pictures.
The Vetranos came all the way from GA, just for the day, to see Abby!

A sweet lady in the church made EACH of the 26 communicants their own cake! So nice. (And man, was it good!!)
We went back to house and had a big ole lunch to celebrate Abby! She wanted ribs and BBQ from Moe's, so we had a feast: collard greens, mac-n-cheese, cornbread, blackeyed peas, slaw, BBQ sandwiches and ribs. This girl can put down some ribs!! (And I told her to get out of her white dress before she ate....she put on her dress from the Father-Daughter dance. Ha!)
Doesn't everyone want a cookie cake with a big ole cross for First Communion? (Caroline sure did)
Abby got wonderful gifts from all her family, but the only one I took a picture of was the bible from Aunt Molly. She opened it first because Aunt Molly & Shan had to head back to Memphis after lunch.
Abby was lucky to have so many family members travel near & far to celebrate this big occasion!
