Field Day & Spirit Run

The kids had Field Day & their Spirit Run on Friday. It's their favorite day of the year!!

It was hard splitting my time between both kids, because I want to see every.single.event. But since that's just not humanly possible, it was nice that Greg came too, so our kids had at least one parent with them all day. First up, Abby!

Abby

 The pre-schoolers started out on the football field doing some bounce houses.



Her teacher, Mrs. Guggenberger, was the class mascot.

At 8:45, it was time for the Fun Run! Abby knew just what to do (since she participated last year), and took off!

After the Spirit Run, it was time for snacks & the playground. Abby is happiest when she's swinging and singing....

Abby's "field day" was topped off with a pizza party at lunch plus a popsicle treat. Followed by a loooong nap!

I missed Nate's first two events, the basketball & scooter relays in the gym, as well as the parachute/cageball station.

I came just in time for the 50 yard dash, relay races, and soccer dribble though. He was so serious!!

These poor kids, they had to wait till 11:45 to do the Spirit Run, and THEN have lunch afterwards. Needless to say, they were starving and grumpy for most of the morning. However, Nate still managed to have fun at the Spirit Run. And beat his old man :)

Finally, it was time for lunch and a little break. The kids got their second wind, and we headed outside for 4 more events. My personal favorite is always the potato sack race. Such a classic! Click here to watch Nate do the Potato Sack race.

 We finished up the events about 30 minutes early, so we headed to the playground for free time. And I sat on a bench for every.single.one.of.those.minutes. I was so exhausted!! (But it was worth it!)

Another great Field Day & Spirit Run in the books. Thanks again to all who pledged money and helped the kids' classes earn incentives. It's all I've heard about the past month! :) We raised a lot of money for the school, and that's what matters most.
