I've said it a million times, but I'll say it again: sometimes I don't even feel like Abby & I are related. If I hadn't seen her come out of my body, I wouldn't believe it.
She is the opposite of me in so many ways b/c she is sooooo girly!! Her girly-ness (is that a word!?) never ceases to amaze me. Every day it's something new, whether it's a pink on pink on pink outfit she's picked out, or a new dance or just the way she flips her hair around. She is a total priss.
Lately, she has discovered a whole bucket of small clips and bows that I put away in her bathroom, since we never use them. Well, should have moved that somewhere UP HIGH. My mistake. She has been putting 10-20 of these little darlings in her hair each day and one day, decided to play with Daddy's hair as well. Thank goodness he's a good sport!

Abby (and Nate) celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday last week by wearing crazy socks (not pictured) and crazy hats to school. Someone was less than thrilled with her "hat."

To prevent huge fights in the mornings, I have given in and let Abby pick out her outfits most days. It is reeeeeeally hard for me to let that control go, but she is just so exhausting I gave up. (And I am counting down the days till she wears a uniform in kindergarten!! I told Greg just this morning that I'm going to buy her 5 identical jumpers so there will absolutely no uniform options, ha!)
So, here is just a sampling of her outfits last week. Clearly she loves lots of color and these little skirts she calls "tutus" :)

Her sweet friend Mia came over last week and what did they do?! Have a tea party, play with princesses, have a dance party, and dress-up. Told you....she is girly to the max!!

But perhaps the biggest news of all is that Friday night, Abby had her first sleepover!! Now, she has slept in Nate's room numerous times, and they do pretty well. But she is always on a separate bed/mattress from him and he usually tells her to be quiet a hundred times b/c he doesn't want to get in trouble :)
Well, not Abby & Caroline....in fact, they have been coined "Double Trouble" by both me & Caroline's mom. She lives right next door so Abby spends a lot of time with her, and they have the most hilarious relationship. One minute, they are saying "Oh you look so beautiful" and the next it's "I don't want to be your friend anymore!" Oh, the drama of 4 year old girls! :)
Anyways, while Nate was next door sleeping over for Jack's party, Caroline came over and the girls did pretty well. I tucked them in around 8:15, and told them they could talk for a little bit.
| They are just pretending to be sleeping here; it's the only way they'd let me take a picture, ha! |
Well, at 9 pm they were STILL chatting & giggling so I went in Abby's room. They had her sound machine on with "Twinkle Twinkle" playing at full blast. I think they were having a dance party b/c they had some boas & scarves & dolls in the bed with them. So, I told them if I had to come back in there, one of them would have to sleep in Nate's room, alone. Yes I am mean, but it worked!! :) They woke up bright and early Saturday morning (6 am!) and immediately we started building forts, dancing to the Frozen song, and eating pancakes. Fun fun!
Awww! She's so cute and girly! I love it! And growing up so fast! I cannot believe she's already had a sleepover! That is SO grown up!
ReplyDeleteDid she really insist on wearing rain boots with her outfit on one of those days? She's one-of-a-kind :)
ReplyDeleteI think she got some of her fashion sense from Aunt BeBe , do you remember her ''Trees"? I love Greg's hair. I have a similar picture of Dad and Grandpa being fixed by you girls. Love that she's a girly girl!
