Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to two of the best dads I know!! (Greg & my Dad!)

Greg,
From the beginning, you've been such a great Daddy to our munchkins. They've always loved climbing on you, hugging you, playing with you, and laughing with you. You are their protector and their playground, all rolled into one....

....and through the years, nothing has changed. They still love you to pieces and can't wait till you come through the door at 6 pm every night :) You are their one & only Daddy and no one could replace you! I am very grateful to have married a man that is such a great Daddy & role model for our kids!

Dad,
You have always been there for me - whether it was just to play with or talk to or to coach my soccer team or to cheer me on at whatever I was doing.  You've always been my biggest fan and for that I'm so thankful!

I love you both very much! Happy Father's Day!

Vacation Bible School

The kids and I have been at VBS all week, where the theme was "Weird Animals."

I was the 1st grade crew leader, which meant I got to stay with Nate all day!! (Plus 17 more kids. 14 of which were boys. Needless to say, even though I was only there for 4 hours each day, it was a long week! :)

We started off each morning with a skit from "Skeeter," this adorable college guy/character who helps with VBS every year. (I swear he is a saint!) The kids adore him and he loves to sing so therefore, the kids have a ball with him.

Then, each class rotates between 6 different stations: Bible Adventures, Music, Movie, Imagination Station, Snack/Saints, and Games. We spend 25 minutes at each station, and then come together again at the end to practice the song we learned that day.

Both my kids look forward to VBS every summer and so do I! We got a copy of the songs this year so we are jammin' every time we're in the van now :) Here's a little peek into our week at VBS:

Day 1

 Day 2

Day 3

Nate held a FERRET! I could not believe my eyes!!

Day 4

Day 5

Proof that Nate touched the Bearded Dragon, at least for a second

Today, for the last 30 minutes, all 100 kids (!) gathered in the church to practice the 3 songs they had learned all week. They are going to be performing in mass tomorrow night, but we will miss it. (We will be on our way to the beach!!) So, I wanted to take a video of at least a little bit of the rehearsal. (Don't mind the technical issues with the cd player! Hope they get that worked out before mass tomorrow night!)

Click here to watch/hear the kids practicing their song "All Around the World." (Abby is on the front row, left hand side. And Nate is on the second row, right hand side.)

A Big Milestone!

TEN years ago, on 6-5-04, I married this handsome guy:
How did I get so lucky!?

Oh, to be young & tan again! :)
 Our beautiful families:

Dad, ready to walk me down the aisle, at the church I grew up in (Clemmons Methodist):
Gotta love that red carpet! I remember stressing over what color I should pick for my bridesmaids dresses, as not to clash with the carpet. If only I'd waited a few years; now it's a neutral color :)
Our awesome wedding party!! Love these guys & gals so much !

Our first dance was to Van Morrison's "Have I Told You Lately." That is the thing I will remember most about our reception....it was just one huge dance party and the most fun ever!
Oh how I loved that cake! (Bec, you did too, right!? :)
My besties - Becca, Klug, Joy, & Nat. We called ourselves Dixie in college (because we lived on Dixie Lane our senior year). I still love all four of these gals to pieces!

Greg,
Thank you for a beautiful & memorable wedding day, and for an amazing 10 years! Here's to 50 more! (Ok well that's a lot....maybe 40 more!?)
I love you!!
