Nate kicked off his third season of basketball last week, with a game Thursday night! He is teamed up with all his school buddies again this year, and they are in a 2nd-3rd grade league. (Unfortunately, we don't have any 3rd graders on our team. And we have a few 2nd graders that are playing for the first time. BUT it's about having fun, right?!)
This was the first time Nate would be playing a game with glasses on, and he's been a bit nervous. We got him some thicker plastic glasses, as well as a strap, so hopefully those will make it through the season....

Nate has been practicing shooting A LOT on our neighbor's goal. He really is a great shooter, but lacks the ability to get open during games and actually create an opportunity to take a shot. So, he has decided to concentrate on his defense skills during the games. He is doing great so far!!

| Love those Ninja defense moves :) |
During practices & games, Abby has been running around with two of her buddies/classmates - Tanner & David. Is it just me or does she look like a little teenager here?!?!? Not cool.
Nate's team lost the first game 29-9 (!), but luckily, he didn't seem too upset. I was proud of him for having good defense, but we definitely still need to work on getting more aggressive and taking more shots.

Update: At Nate's second game on Friday night, he did MUCH better! I may or may not have told him he'd get 50 cents for every shot he attempted :) (He took 2 shots, and of course both were while I was taking Abby to the bathroom. Ugh!) His team did much better at passing and taking shots, so hopefully they will keep improving. We still lost....bad. But again, Nate is having fun so that is most important. Here's to a great season!!

Yes, Most important is fun and improving!
