Turkey Trot

Nate ran the Turkey Trot (on 11/18) with his buddy Mason!! It was a 2 mile race at nearby Midtown, and we lucked out with great weather.

 The whole family was there to cheer him on, but of course, Nate's #1 cheerleader is always Abby :)

After mile 1, Nate pulled away and started to pick up his pace.....

 He had an *amazing* finish time of 14:40!!!!!! (That's a 7:20 pace, people.) To say we were super proud is an understatement.

 Mason did great too, and only finished about 2 minutes after Nate. They were both exhausted!!

 We waited around forever for awards, and finally it was announced that Mason got 2nd place in the 9 & Under age group. (He was super stoked to pick a door prize and get Alabama vs. Mercer football tickets!) 

 We were hoping Nate would place in his age group (10-14 years old), but he didn't. He came in 4th place, behind two 13 year olds and a 12 year old. He was super disappointed, so I treated him to a hot chocolate and the world's largest cinnamon roll to cheer him up! :)
