Griffin Farms Pumpkin Patch

Two weekends ago, we had a family day out at Griffin Farms Pumpkin Patch.  One of our favorite days of the year!!!
Miss Priss strikin' a pose!

We planned to be there right when it opened at 12, and the kids wanted to head straight to the corn pen. I have NO idea why, but this is their absolute FAVORITE thing at the pumpkin patch. And it has been for years! They had one of the pens all to themselves and had.a.ball!

Best buds having a ball!!!
She asked to be "buried" in the corn and could.not.stop.laughing!!!
Next up, the corn maze. It was MUCH bigger than last year, and Nate was determined to solve it by himself....
Greg and I stayed with Miss Priss, and she stopped anywhere
she saw a flower or two peeking out. Diva!
Once the 3 of us exited the corn maze, Nate still was not out. We thought he would have beaten us for sure. Fast forward 10 minutes and we are frantically looking for him in the maze and calling his name. Longest few minutes of my life! Clearly, we found him but I told him NEVER again could he do it alone! He got upset because I was mad at him, but we were determined not to let it ruin our day. So, onto the zipline.....

Show off!

He looked so little up there!

Since Abby was too small to do the zipline, we let her do a pony ride for the first time. She got a horse named "Cowboy," and had a great time! She looked right at home in the saddle, especially with her new favorite boots on :) And she loved his soft mane!
We did a few of the activities meant for younger kids....which lasted about 2 minutes. So lame for my big kids!

Not impressed with the slide.

Hay tower was ok

She never gets tired of swinging :)
While Abby was swinging & singing her heart out with Greg, I took Nate to the rock wall.  He started out on the "easy" side....
....and then he moved over to the "hard" side. Piece of cake!
Abby liked the horse tire swing, but Nate's long legs looked a bit ridiculous.....
Then we moved to the back side of the pumpkin patch and ALL took a turn down the big slide. It was sooooo fast!
Bounce house fun.....

Last but not least, it was time for our tractor ride to pick out pumpkins.
We had plenty to choose from since it was early October!!
Abby insisted on carrying & holding her pumpkin. Strong girl!

For the first time, we saw a field of sunflowers. Abby was obsessed with them & insisted on taking pictures with me by them. (Plus a few selfies & silly pictures, but I will spare you those :)
Family photo op before heading out. What a great day!!

Until next time.....

  1. Why did the zip line guy give me the kids-size small helmet?
